Education
In the first Physiotherapy session, I always aim to make sure you understand what is going on. A clear diagnosis and treatment plan makes you feel at ease and ready to take action with the rehab program I design for you.
Is there any stretches or exercises you can give me to help?
My goal is to help you understand the root cause of your issues so when I give you a custom rehab program, you have all the tools equipped to recover more quickly. Research shows that understanding your pain and where it comes from helps your recovery process and gives you more motivation. In our session, I will give you an understanding of what’s happening, pain relieving treatments to ease your symptoms and then a rehab program to get you there sooner.
FAQ’s in your Physio session

Once I have a clear diagnosis in your first Physiotherapy session, I will provide you with a treatment plan and let you know roughly how many sessions you may require. Each individual is different and improvement of your condition is dependent on many factors including an individuals presentation, your response to treatment, adherence to your rehab program and external factors in your life like stress, flare ups from activity etc. An acute ankle sprain may only take 3-6 weeks of full healing whereas experiencing one year of back pain may take 2 -3 months to get back to 100%. My goal is to get you better as quickly as possible and I’ll aim to do this in the least amount of sessions possible.

A treatment plan is a guide I provide you with after our first Physio session. It outlines your diagnosis, the root cause, proposed treatments to help you recover and an outline of how many sessions you will likely require. I also include any lifestyle modifications that may help your recovery.

Generally clients will see me twice a week for the first few weeks for intensive Physio to really make significant changes. Thereafter, they may see me once per week for a few more weeks until their back to 100%. Some clients have long term goals and we can also book a maintenance session every 1-2 months for a tune up if necessary. Follow my lead and I’ll get you back to doing what you love sooner.
